The U.S. Treasury recently announced that by 2020, a woman will be featured alongside (or on the other side) of Hamilton on the new $10 bill. They reached out through media outlets and asked the public for suggestions. The responses were as numerous as they were varied.
Some people showed up with serious recommendations (though Sacagawea already has the gold dollar, so maybe she should step aside for one of these other ladies)...
#New10 My first thoughts are Eleanor Roosevelt, Sacagawea, Harriet Tubman, and Rosa Parks!

And some people’s recommendations were less serious...
Our vote of who fits the "bill" ... #TheNew10 #womanonmoney pic.twitter.com/PINqhGnZcq

Some people weren’t happy that a woman would only share the bill with Hamilton and not have a bill of her own...
So a woman isn't getting her own bill, and Jackson is keeping the 20. Am I the only person not jumping for joy? #New10

Some managed to keep their sense of humor about it...
Guys, Hamilton has to stay on the $10 because if it was JUST a woman on there it would only be worth $7.70. #new10

One woman decided she’d be the face of the new $10, knowing full well that they don’t put living people on US currency...
So they're putting a woman on the new $10 in 2020. That means I have 5 years to do something amazing with my life and then die. #thenew10

Some people were looking at the bigger picture...
#New10 to debut in 2020. Example of glacial pace of federal govt. change. By then everyone will be using bitcoin, anyway.

Some men weren’t too eager to have a woman on the new $10 at all...
Leave the damn money alone! #New10

One woman raised a good point, though: Women should decide...
Please, white conservative men, keep telling us what matters to the feminist movement. You've been such help historically, why stop? #New10

Just maybe not this woman...
