The following 10 burglary statistics originate from reports published by the FBI, the Bureau of Justice Statistics, and UNC at Charlotte's Department of Criminal Justice & Criminology. 1. When burglars were asked if they had gathered information on a target before committing the crime, 41% suggested it was a “spur-of-the-moment” decision.
